What is Wrong – and Right in America Today?n

By the numbers:

  1. Market uncertainty over events in the Middle East has driven gasoline prices higher. People have noticed.

In late September, national gasoline prices averaged $4.479. However, gasoline prices, generally, were highest in Democrat-run and lowest in Republican-run states. California ($6.169) was the highest, Texas ($3.950) was lowest.

High gasoline taxes and its government’s refusal to extract and refine its own petroleum reserves drive up California’s prices – and the national average. High prices in Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and Michigan, among others, also drive up the average.

Even so, measured in constant dollars against every year since 1970, today’s national average is only the 10th-highest – about 15 percent below the Obama administration’s 2012 peak of $5.08.

The brutal inflation of the Biden years drove up the price of everything, including gasoline. During the Biden administration, in adjusted dollars, the gasoline price average peaked higher than today’s average.

In the fall of 2008, Steven Chu, Barack Obama’s eventual energy secretary told the Wall Street Journal that, “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” In the same year, the Los Angeles Times published an article extolling “The joy of $8 gas.”

Democrats and allied media propagandists made no issue of gasoline prices during the Obama and Biden administrations. None. In fact, as the Biden administration’s energy policy was driving them up, we were told that presidents don’t control gasoline prices.

For the record, the greatest examples of media deception aren’t always what gets reported, it’s what gets left out.

There’s much more that’s been left out, misrepresented or downplayed.

Since the January, 2025 presidential inauguration…

  1. American stock markets have reached record highs, benefitting IRAs and pension funds.

  1. GDP growth is robust again.

  1. Median family income in 2026 is projected to reach a record $87,460.00.

  1. America is experiencing net negative migration for the first time 70+ years.

  1. Poverty and joblessness are at record lows.

Note: both employment/income growth and lower poverty levels have a direct correlation to the deportation/repatriation of millions of illegal aliens.

  1. Food inflation has fallen below the twenty-year average. Apart from gasoline and related products, the annualized inflation rate though August was modest.

  1. American factories are running at high capacity, and trillions of investment dollars have begun to flow into our economy.

  1. The national crime rate has dropped precipitously. Violent and property crime rates have reached their lowest levels since 1976. However, the numbers remain higher in Democrat-controlled jurisdictions.

  1. The American military and federal officers have begun dismantling Latin American drug cartels. American drug-related deaths have plummeted.

  1. The Trump administration has negotiated control of 65 billion barrels of Venezuela’s oil reserves at cost, denying Cuba and China access to that resource.

  1. The administration has convinced Panama to exclude China from Panama Canal and port ownership.

  1. The Trump administration has secured perpetual strategic military control over Greenland at no cost to American taxpayers.

  1. America has added more than one million additional private sector jobs, while taxpayers are paying more than 300 thousand fewer federal employees.

  1. Iran is a temporary inconvenience (ditto gasoline prices). The (surviving) mullahs’ ability to destabilize the Middle East is on life support. Iran has lost its nuclear strike potential.

To recap, the Trump administration has strengthened the Western Hemisphere; the nation is energy independent; jobs opportunities are increasing; poverty in America hit an all-time low; immigration to the U.S. is negative for the first time in decades; and median household income has hit an all-time high.

Points 2 through 15 – 93 percent – are factually indisputable improvements.

Nonetheless, the Media Research Center reveals that press coverage of President Donald Trump and his administration is 92 percent negative.

What is genuinely wrong in America today is the desire, depending upon method, of a majority or plurality of Democrats to remove President Trump from office by any means necessary, including a military coup, or, for nearly a third, assassination.

Virulent hatred of Donald Trump and obsessing over a temporary increase in gasoline prices are all Democrats and their media propagandists have to influence the midterm elections.

However, experience tells us that lots of things will go wrong – again – if Democrats regain control of Congress.
