Report Indicates PA Physician Shortage to Get Worse

The Voice of Medical Liability Tort Reform Education March 7, 2008

The Pennsylvania Medical Society has issued a report showing Pennsylvania's health care delivery crisis will continue to worsen in the years ahead.

In recent testimony to a Pennsylvania House of Representatives committee, former Governor Thornburgh testified the commonwealth will lose 10,000 physicians by 2010 due to natural retirements.

Current Governor Ed Rendell responded a few days later claiming the medical liability lawsuit abuse crisis is over...and in fact never really existed.

While it's important physicians demand their elected officials take action to reverse Pennsylvania's medical liability lawsuit abuse crisis, it's more important those politicians hear from patients.

Please urge your patients to become involved by contacting the Patients And Physicians Alliance (PAPA) at 215-271-9590.

Smokers to Sue Doctors

Could doctors' careers be snuffed out by litigating smokers?

According to a recent press release distributed by the self-acclaimed mastermind of the notorious tobacco settlement, the answer is "yes."

The mastermind claims physicians kill over 40,000 smokers per year...and ought to pay for that injustice.

While on the surface this may seem laughable at best, the fact is, personal injury lawyers are taking a hard look at these potentially lucrative lawsuits.

Visit PAPA's news and information site to learn more about this loony legislation that could be more than a drag on physicians' careers - click here.
