Quote of the Week
"[J]udges, therefore, should be always men of learning and experience in the laws, of exemplary morals, great patience, calmness, coolness, and attention. Their minds should not be distracted with jarring interests; they should not be dependent upon any man, or body of men."
~ John Adams

Abstinence-Only Education: Good for life, Bad for Planned Parenthood Business. Despite the fact that abstinence-only education has little to do with the abortion industry; numerous pro-abortion organizations have vigorously opposed the funding of such programs. Tom Shaheen, vice president of policy for the Pennsylvania Family Institute, believes a good portion of pro-abortion opposition stems from the fact that federal funding of abstinence-only education takes away from funding of abortion-related programs and impacts business, as reported by the Bulletin in Philadelphia, www.thebulletin.us.
The Woman Behind the White Ribbons Campaign Against Pornography. The White Ribbon campaign, an annual effort to raise awareness about pornography, celebrated its 20th year, founded by Norma Norris of Butler, PA near Pittsburgh, but championed for two decades by Peggie Miller of Lancaster County. Marriage News
Federal Defense of Marriage Act Threatened. The Boston-based legal advocacy group that led the fight for gay marriage in Massachusetts is pushing to expand same-sex couples' rights. Carissa Cunningham, a spokeswoman for Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders, or GLAD, said the group is now setting its sights on the federal Defense of Marriage Act of 1996, as reported by the Boston Globe. This is why it so important that we not only pass a state marriage amendment, but also a federal marriage protection amendment.

House Passes ENDA, Threat to Religious Liberty. The U.S. House passed the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (ENDA) - a bill that gives homosexuals special rights in the workplace, with a vote of 235-184. ENDA would enshrine homosexuality in federal law, providing activists with the legal ammunition to threaten Christian employers, including ministries, child care centers and schools, from morally opposing the hiring of homosexuals in their organizations.
Take Action!
CALL YOUR U.S. Senators and ask them to please Vote NO on H.R. 3685, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Congress should not tell private employers whom to hire or make sexual orientation or gender identity a protected class. It's a matter of protecting the right of conscience and religious liberty.
Contact President Bush and ask him to veto this bill if it passes the Senate.
Read the Roll Call to see how your Congressman voted. CALL YOUR U.S. Representative (Congressman) and thank them if they voted against it or share your disappointment with them if they voted yes.
Use our Citizen Action Center!
