Metcalfe Warns Taxpayers of Wolf’s Insatiable Appetite for More of Their Money

HARRISBURG — Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) issued the following statement today regarding Gov. Tom Wolf’s 2016-17 state budget proposal:

"Since no society has ever taxed, spent or borrowed its way to prosperity, let’s be completely honest and transparent about what Gov. Wolf is actually proposing in his 2016-17 state budget.

"Living up to his ranking as the nation’s most liberal governor, Wolf is once again displaying what so many already knew, liberals don’t care about people; they only care about increasing government control.

"Taxpayers cannot afford to pay billions more in taxes and should not be penalized so Wolf can use taxpayer money as a means to feed his insatiable appetite for unsustainable spending.

"Not surprisingly, the $33.29 billion spending proposal that Wolf presented today is another demonstration of his out-of-touch, leftist ideology to redistribute what belongs to hard-working taxpayers to his public union friends who are funding attacks on Republican lawmakers who are standing firmly against his massive tax hikes.

"Regardless of the amount, Wolf’s rabid demands for higher taxes and more of your money is legalized theft and it is wrong! I will continue to oppose any budget that calls for increased taxes, irresponsible spending and the confiscation of billions more from taxpayers’ pockets."
