It’s grape harvest time in Erie, PA where the PFEW home office is located. As you drive through the surrounding area, you can smell the sweet scent of grapes. The harvest is a sign that summer is ending and fall is about to begin. As we head into fall, we look back at the wonderful time we had at PFEW 2012.

And speaking of grapes, we’ve heard lots of good things through the "grapevine" about our 2012 sessions.

The testimonial below is just one of many we received about how PFEW 2012 effected our graduates. We hope to share more testimonials with you over the next few months, so you can see just how your support of PFEW has influenced the future of our great state.

This edition of the PFEW Pulse is dedicated to the graduates of PFEW 2012. And on behalf of the graduating class of 1,656 students who took the "PFEW journey" this past summer, we want to again thank all of our donors for supporting PFEW and helping us provide another wonderful experience for all of our graduates.

We look forward to working with you this coming year and hope you will join us as we look forward to PFEW 2013 and welcoming another class into the "PFEW family".

Warmly,
The PFEW Staff
Alumni Testimonials
This month we are pleased to feature Ms.Leann Colella, an Alumnus who was CEO of her "company" this summer during Week II at PFEW 2012.

"I never thought that one week could mean so much to me. People that I met and knew for such a short period of time touched my heart and impacted my life. I heard about PFEW from a few friends at school who recommended that I attend the camp since I was interested in business. I took the advice and applied. After being accepted, my excitement slowly grew from day to day until it was actually time for me to leave to go to PFEW. Then, I began to feel a mixture of joy and suspense with a sprinkle of nerves. What was it going to be like? What was I getting myself into?

As I sat down in the welcoming orientation I was blessed to learn that, in my opinion, I had the best group. Instantly, I began to talk to my teammates and make connections. After a few moments, I knew something extraordinary was about to happen. In my six-day adventure at PFEW I was more stressed, exhausted and worried than I think I have ever been at one time; eighteen other people were relying on me. I stayed up late every night and woke up early every morning. However, I was happy to do it. I was excited to get up and get to work. I was determined to finish a project before bed and the weight of my team made me work harder and grow closer to the program and the phenomenal people involved with it. There was something in the air or maybe the power and energy in a room that made everything feel so incredible. Throughout the week I remember thinking to myself, ‘This is amazing and I get to be a part of it.’ Every speaker had a message that I connected to. I learned about business, people, success, but mostly I learned about myself. I am a leader. I am powerful, smart and influential. I am a PFEW graduate.

Often, I will think of the times I experienced in that one life-changing week and wish that I could go back and just relive one day, one hour, one minute and feel the energy and excitement. I would love to give my amazing teammates another hug and tell them I am proud of them. Even though it saddens me to know that I never can, I am so honored to have experienced PFEW. Now is the time that I can make everyone at PFEW see how appreciative I am and apply all that I have learned into my life and the world. What I felt, experienced and learned at PFEW is invaluable. I will hold on to the skills and memories for a lifetime. Thank you PFEW for one of the best weeks of my life."
~Leann Colella, Knoch HS, Butler County
