Conservative Reform Network

Our mission is to build a network of funding sources and a community of activists who will advance an agenda that embraces a philosophy of Constitutional Limited Government, the Rule of Law, Economic Freedom, and the traditional values that sustain individual initiative, personal autonomy and responsibility.

Our network community is dedicated to replacing current elected liberal central planners who believe in command and control socialism by a few elite technocrats, the few ruling the many, with leaders who support the freedom of the individual, free markets engaged in free trade, and free market solutions to healthcare, retirement, energy and education.

Dear Lowman,

The Republicans, after much resistance, have adopted a "no earmarks" policy. The Democrats and Big Government Big Spenders Big Debtors continue to resist.

Despite the fact that Arlen Specter is riding off into retirement in a few weeks, he has made 578 earmark spending requests for the 2011 federal budget, according to the watchdog group Taxpayers Against Earmarks.

Specter's requests total $2.2 billion, making the snarlin' one Pennsylvania's departing prince of pork.
Be The Change You Want to See In the World

Tea Party and Fiscal Common Sense Constitutional Conservatives are hammering them. Relentlessly. Everywhere.

DeMint and Coburn are rising and McConnell Cornyn are falling. House Rs don't take Earmarks.

More Tea Party outrage at Earmarks....................McConnell and the rest may be smiling that they just slipped the noose but it may be tightening. " Fox's Megyn Kelly was not happy to hear that many Republicans have stuffed the omnibus spending bill full of earmarks...She also vowed to name more names on "both sides of the aisle." Why do I think these guys will feel some pain?

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) may have vowed to vote down the latest spending bill, but not before Fox's Bill Hemmer uncovered a stubborn little fact: Cornyn has stuffed $16 million worth of earmarks into the bill.
Hemmer invited Cornyn on his show to talk about the new massive spending bill. Cornyn dutifully railed against it. But when Hemmer confronted Cornyn on his own $16 million worth of earmarks, the Senator tried to squirm his way out of it. To be fair, he did (just barely) by vowing to vote against it. But listen to the logic he used to defend his earmarks:

Cornyn's "defense" is exactly why earmarks are so prevalent: they are all "defensible" and "good" for your constituents. He even tries to invoke the sacred cow of our "men and women in uniform" - that seems to me a cowardly debate killer.
How can Republicans rail against Democratic earmarks and then defend their own? As Ghandi once said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
