PA Chamber Plans Trade Rally

PA Chamber, U.S. Chamber rally to address importance of international trade to Pennsylvania’s economy
Senior Trade Advisor and Consul of Mexico to speak at event

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, along with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will hold a rally and news conference at the state Capitol designed to educate consumers, businesses, workers, farmers, families and elected officials about the importance of international trade to Pennsylvania’s economy. The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 in the Capitol Rotunda.

The event is part of the TradeRoots PA initiative, a multi-year private sector partnership led by the PA Chamber and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, key chambers, and the business community from throughout Pennsylvania.

Those scheduled to speak at the news conference include:

• Jim Willshier, PA Chamber manager of chamber relations and special projects
• Leslie Schweitzer, U.S. Chamber senior trade advisor
• Enrique Ruiz Sanchez, consul of Mexico

As part of the rally, nearly two dozen Pennsylvania companies that are involved in the export business will have their products on display in the Capitol Rotunda.
